EAST INDIAN DISHES:KHASTA POROTA RECIPE

KHASTA POROTA RECIPE

Ingredients: 4 tblsp ghee 2 cup refined flour (maida) 1 egg  1 tsp salt 1 tblsp sugar water as required 
How to make khasta porota :

  1. Melt the ghee.
  2. Mix everything flour, sugar, salt. 
  3. Mix in 2 tblsp of ghee and the egg and mix well. 
  4. Mix in enough water and knead into a soft dough. 
  5. Divide the dough 3 portions. 
  6. Roll out each portion into a chappati. 
  7. Cover with a damp cloth and keep aside. 
  8. Spread a little ghee on a flat surface. 
  9. Keep one chappati on it. 
  10. Apply some ghee to the chappati and gently pull the edges of the chappati so that it gradually spreads into a thin one. 
  11. Fold into half and again into half to resemble a triangle. 
  12. Keep it covered with a damp cloth. 
  13. Preheat up the oven to 190ºc. 
  14. Gently pat each triangle to a fairly thin chappati. 
  15. Keep them at least 10 cm apart on the baking tray. 
  16. Bake in the oven at 190ºc for about 30 minutes.
